TurtleSkin® Body Armor Testing for Lifespan Performance

Tireless testing. Proven performance.
All ballistic packages are at risk for extreme wear and abuse. TurtleSkin Body Armor meets strict internal testing standards that result in higher safety margins. Warwick's proprietary aging test protocol recognizes performance loss due to flex, heat, and humidity. We perform scientific tests on our aged ballistic materials to ensure reliable ballistic resistance for consistent lifespan performance.

Accelerated Aging Testing
A ballistic package must perform in its last year of service just as it does in its first. That is why we perform internal ballistics testing after the ballistic materials have undergone extensive aging procedures.

Warwick's proprietary Combined Cycle Accelerated Aging (CCAA) protocol recognizes the importance of multiple variables involved in performance loss. We run extensive scientific aging tests on our ballistic materials to ensure that ballistic resistance is maintained over time. Our CCAA chamber simulates the intense environmental factors endured during more than five years of full-time wear.

Fiber Aging and Durability
We expose our ballistic fibers to high temperatures to simulate extreme conditions that could affect durability and ballistic resistance during the product’s use in the field.

Humidity Cycling
To simulate wear during field use, our test chamber cycles humidity and dry air for repeated swelling and contraction of the ballistic materials.

Motion and Wear Simulation
Flex testing simulates field use and softens the ballistic panel in a controlled manner. After the mechanical flexing process has been completed, we perform ballistics test to ensure reliable performance from the first to last day of use.

Break-In Process
Before a product is shipped, every piece of TurtleSkin Body Armor is put through a systematic break-in process. This ensures out-of-the-box comfort and mobility while offering the best protection. Our high-level design standards incorporate the negative impact that product break-in has on ballistic resistance, so you know you have the best protection every day.
